David and his OUTLANDER co-stars including Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser), and Duncan Lacroix (Murtagh Fitzgibbons), and Diana Gabaldon attended the New York City Comic Con 2022. I’m sorry I didn’t have these up on the day, but I was having some issues with my webhost. Hopefully that won’t happen again. Here’s David.
If this episode doesn’t have one of the best scenes of the series, I don’t know what does. I love the scene where Lord John gives Captain… ah, Lieutenant Leonard (Charlie Hiett) a dressing down he’ll not soon forget. Lord John always has Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) back and I love any scene David and Sam are in.
I always call this episode “the one with the crazy lady”. In The Bakra, we see the return of Lord John Grey as only David Berry can play him. Lord John and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) are reunited after Helwater in Jamaica where Lord John is the Governor.
Following on with the next episode of season three with David as Lord John Grey. This one has one of the most gut-wrenching endings of perhaps any television program. Jamie (Sam Heughan) leaves Helwater and Willie (Clark Butler) in the hands of our Lord John and Isobel Dunsany (Tanya Reynolds).
I’m finally getting to the beginning of David’s episodes as LORD JOHN GREY on OUTLANDER. I’d hoped to do Tobias Menzies (Black Jack Randall/Frank Randall), Duncan Lacroix, and the King of Men himself, Sam Heughan (Jaime Fraser/James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser) at the same time, but due to circumstances beyond my control I haven’t been able to get to those. So I thought I’d take on the few episodes David was in. The first All Debts Paid. This episode has one of my favourite scenes for David. The one where Lord John and Jamie are playing chess when they get talking about their personal losses. Then Lord John tries to comfort Jamie, but unfortunately Jamie’s torture by Black Jack Randall at Wentworth Prison is still too close in his mind. Excellent reaction from David.
Since I don’t have a lot of press material for David to make more than one post, I thought I’d just consolidate them into one omnibus post. Here is what I have collected on David in the press.
